宫廷铜鎏金宗喀巴大师（1357-1419）是藏传佛教著名高僧大德，自幼聪慧非凡，在学问修持等方面都具有极高成就，被藏族僧俗尊称为第二佛陀，也是藏传佛教格鲁派的创始人。大师头戴桃形尖帽，为持律者所戴的法帽。面相丰颐，双目低垂，鼻梁挺直，唇角含笑，展现出大师救度世间众生脱离苦海的慈悲爱心。上身内着僧坎，外披袈裟，衣缘錾刻有华丽纹饰。双手于胸前结说法印，两肩肩花高耸华丽，其上饰有宝剑和经书，象征大师为文殊菩萨在人间的化身。下身着僧裙，质地飘逸，褶皱自然，双腿结跏趺坐姿，下承仰覆莲座。整像造型规整，尺度严谨，既遵循了造像量度的规范，又表现出上师的庄严法相，无疑是清代内地艺术大师的精心之作。尤其是金色光洁亮丽，绚丽夺目，为此像平添一份艺术风采。
