NEW ENGLAND EARLY FEDERAL BIRCH CANDLESTAND, circular stationary top with slightly angled edge chamfered to the underside, raised on an urn-turned pedestal and three cabriole legs terminating in snake feet. Old warm surface retaining remnants of an early black-painted surface with striping. Late 18th century. 25 1/4" H, 16 1/2" D top. Very good condition, small whitish stains to top. Provenance: From the collection of Nick Routson, Phoenix, AZ.
