CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY QUEEN ANNE CHERRY SERPENTINE FRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS, boldly shaped, overhanging top with serpentine front and scratch-beaded edges, above a conforming case fitted with four graduated, scratch-beaded drawers retaining original brasses and locks, on a protruding, molded base raised on short cabriole legs terminating in full pad feet. White pine secondary wood. Retains an excellent old surface with warm color. Interior of upper drawer with penciled inscription "This bureau made in 1752". Probably made in the Springfield-Deerfield area. Second half 18th century. 36 1/4" H, 39 1/2" W, 19" D. Excellent original condition, proper right front foot is loose, third drawer with small patch to lower edge, short crack to top.
