印泥盒螃蟹造型，紫檀圆雕刻成。蟹壳为盖、蟹腹掏作印池，蟹足环抱稻禾，寓“和谐美好”之意。蟹壳盖内阴刻“桐城姚鼐清玩”并篆刻“姬传”小印一方，系桐城派大人姚鼐先生旧物。印盒仅手中盈盈一握，包浆色泽清润可人，印池遗有昔时印尼斑驳残迹，犹如肥腴蟹膏。制作构思极巧，臻于妙境，历数百年仍完好，如有神护。知其材异，世此其小嫣者也。
