冲天耳炉，形体端正肃穆，寓“敬天法祖”之意。宣德帝常将此式炉置于殿堂，相伴朝议，为庄严之器。此炉造型精巧，各部分比例协调，形态颇具美感。古铜皮色深沉，皮壳油亮。底落“玉堂清玩”款，该款相传为明相严嵩之子严东楼的字号，备受推崇，历来仿者甚众。炉无论造型、皮色、做工，皆堪称上乘，虽为小器，却别有一种宏大之势，气度不凡。
