金刚杵，又称降魔杵，音译“伐折罗”等，藏语称“多吉”。其主要分为独股、三股、五股、九股，各有不同的代表寓意。此件金刚杵为五股，握柄正中为球形。球形握柄上下的兽面装饰以合金铜铸造，外围雕刻莲瓣，莲瓣简洁质朴，带有早期佛教艺术的造型特色。金钢杵中间一股，代表佛之“实智”；摩羯鱼口衔的四股杵刃，表示佛之“权智”。而外围四股弓起，最终收归于中间一股，则象征了“权智”必归“实智”之义。“杵”的上下两端，股状相同，表示佛界、众生界同具五智之义。此杵造型古意盎然，包浆亮泽莹润，尤为可贵是其以天铁和合金铜两种不同的材料铸造而成，工艺复杂，寓意殊胜，是早期法器中的经典之作，具有极大加持力。
