宗喀巴大师（1357—1419），法名罗桑扎巴，是藏传佛教格鲁派的创始人。他一生严守戒律，虔心弘法，其著述和弟子众多，深受藏区僧俗民众的热爱和崇奉。此尊头戴通人冠，表示他继承和严格遵行佛教一切戒律。面庞方圆，额宽颐丰，眉眼俊秀平直，法相宁谧和煦，展现出大师与文殊童子无二无别的圆满功德。上身内着僧坎，外披袈裟，袈裟上錾刻有华丽纹饰。左手托法器于腹前，右手举于胸前，两肩肩饰上分别置经书和宝剑，为大师的标志法器。下身着宽松僧裙，双腿结跏趺坐于莲花座上。整像选材优良，做工规整，继承了内地藏传造像重视量度的艺术特征，是一尊优秀的内地藏传造像精品。
