PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated two-gallon capacity, ovoid form with flaring, flat-top rim, prominent shoulder and neck bead, arched, extruded handles, and slightly flaring foot, Albany-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt grape bunch hanging from a leafy branch decoration, additional brushed cobalt "2" to back. Probably Remmey family, Philadelphia, PA. Circa 1840. 12" H, 8 3/4" D rim. Rim with two flakes, lower body with some light glaze exfoliation, staining around base. Provenance: From the collection of Nick Routson, Phoenix, AZ.
