OHIO FOLK ART FRAKTUR BIRTH RECORD DRAWING, watercolor and ink on paper, inscribed "ESTHER FISHER" arched above a house and "Was Born / Adomino, MDCCC" and signed "Eaton, P. C. Ohio August 20th 1827." and "George W. Daly, fc", all within two borders. Housed under glass in a later gilt frame. Circa 1827. 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" sight, 9 1/2" x 11 1/2" OA. Good overall condition, laid on an old newspaper, losses to the name lettering, otherwise only some light minor toning and discoloration. Provenance: From the collection of Nick Routson, Phoenix, AZ.Susie & Richie Burmann, Ohio/New Hampshire. Catalogue Note: Esther Simon Fisher (1799-1868) was born in Washington Co., PA to Nicholas and Susanna Simon. She married George Fisher (1797-1869) on September 30, 1819 in Portage Co., OH. While the artist of this drawing has not been identified, the inclusion of a house as the central ornament suggests it is one George Dailey (abt. 1806-1890), a house carpenter and joiner living in nearby Medina, Ohio in 1840.
