AMERICAN, POSSIBLY SHAKER, TUFTED AND CLIPPED RAG RUG / RUNNER, rectangular form featuring knotted rag/fabric pieces with a "confetti" center field and striped ends of black, red, and tan colors, hand-stitched to a blue-striped ticking fabric backing. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 77" x 24". Very good overall condition with some scattered toning and stains, fraying to ends of rag/fabric pieces, backing with overall toning and some bleeding of color from rag/fabric pieces. Provenance: From the collection of Nick Routson, Phoenix, AZ.Susie & Richie Burmann, Ohio/New Hampshire.
