NEW ENGLAND PAINT-DECORATED PINE TALL-CASE CLOCK, 30-hour wooden works, unsigned painted-wood dial with faux winding holes, hood with original pierced scroll-work pediment, brass finials, and plinths, slightly tapering columns with brass capitals and bases flanking the hinged door, case with brass mounted quarter columns flanking the waist door, base with simple cut-out feet. Retains its original flamed rosewood and banded paint-decorated surface. Weights and pendulum present. Possibly Riley Whiting, Winchester, Connecticut. First half 19th century. 83" HOA, 18" W, 9 1/4" D. Very good overall condition, old split to front of base, dial with scattered areas of minor paint loss running with the wood grain, other minor losses to paint.
