NEW ENGLAND QUEEN ANNE FIGURED MAPLE FALL-FRONT DESK, dovetailed case, the hinged, lip-molded fall-board concealing a stepped, fitted interior comprising cut-out valences over cubby holes and two tiers of drawers, above pull-out lopers and four graduated lip-molded drawers, on an applied base with center pediment raised on short cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. White pine secondary wood. Original brass hinges, refitted with period brasses. Old refinished surface with warm color. Fourth quarter 18th century. 43" H, 36" W, 18 3/4" D. Writing height 31". Very good overall condition, each case end and fall-board with shrinkage crack, one rear foot bracket detached but present, typical small repairs to lip moldings.
