Werner Peiner, 1897 Düsseldorf – 1984 Leichlingen Der Maler studierte ab 1919 an der Düsseldorfer Akademie. 1933 wurde er an die Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie als Professor für Monumentalmalerei berufen.

Parade with a chariot passing in front of a Roman architecture, pulled by four horses, on which Jupiter is standing, who is named on a cartouche under the wheels, under a red canopy with feather decoration held by six poles. Apart from Jupiter, Maximilian the Great, Frederick II, Elector Lorenzo de Medici and Louis XIV are also depicted, along with personifications of happiness, pride and honour as well as death, which is lying under the chariot.
