壶身为圆球形，深腹圜底，两肩对饰兽面铺首衔环，以锁链与提梁相接，弓形提梁两端呈龙首形，形态优美，端庄雅致；下具三熊足，沈稳威严；盖作覆盘形，其上均匀分布三只简化的凤鸟环钮。此壶制作考究，装饰疏密有致，延续了商周礼器的端庄稳重。来源：1.大卫•斯贝尔曼伉俪旧藏；2. 王季迁旧藏；3.纽约苏富比拍卖，1979年11月2日，第239号；4.纽约苏富比拍卖，1990年11月27日，王季迁家族珍藏中国早期艺术精品专场，第54号。展览：1.纽约长岛大学C.W.艺术中心《中国艺术展》，1977年2月4日 至 3月27日，第46号；2.华美协进社《汉代艺术展》，1979年3月14日 至 5月27日，第66号。
