此筒瓶撇口，束颈，筒腹，平底。胎质细腻，釉质莹润，器身以青花通景绘指日高升图，画面中见一仕者头戴展脚硬幞，身着官服，手挽笏板，其面前童子以手指向空中圆日，寓意“指日高升”。
指日高升图为明末清初时期最为流行的瓷器装饰题材。指日为即日之意，这从《韩愈送刘师服诗》“还家虽阙短，指日亲晨餐”中便可知晓。指日高升典出明代程登吉《幼学琼林·文臣》“代天巡狩，赞称巡按；指日高升，预贺官僚”之句，指日高升即不日升官之意。此为旧时官场预祝之词，明末清初时期大量流行于瓷器装饰题材中，可显文人学士之企盼。本品造型挺拔，青花发色极佳，外加寓意吉祥，不失为一件颇具时代特点的崇祯青花佳作。
