此壶成色稳重，砂质温润细腻，充分烧结后呈沉香质，微微泛紫。古莲子壶，鼓腹圆身，壶身略高，颈肩娟秀；小弯流胥出于壶肩，轻巧娇娆，款款生情，壶把如美人叉腰，亭亭玉立；更妙的是壶钮，盖子隆起，一枚莲子点睛，万般风情难状。整器顾盼有致，圆润舒展，淡雅飘逸，有闲云野鹤的意蕴。
莲子壶在紫砂市场上一直很抢手，也是古壶收藏的重要品种，此壶气度饱满，舒展流畅，壶底用竹刀镌刻：“为有源头活水来”，落款：“青云”，充满了文人的高雅气息。
