此香盒以红木为材雕琢而成，整作寿桃形，子母口。盒盖与盒身相若，底部光素。盖面以仿剔红之技法雕福寿纹，下层雕回字锦纹，其上挂两颗硕大寿桃，加以卍字锦纹相衬，一侧枝叶繁茂，攀于桃身。盖沿上下两侧蝙蝠双翅尽展，趴附于桃枝花叶之间，似在吮吸鲜美的桃汁，余部亦饰花叶一周，整幅画面动静相宜，简繁得当。器身直壁，雕饰卍字锦纹一周，于盖面相映成趣。
整器以红木自然之纹理与仿剔红之技法相结合，为香盒中巧思之精品。传承年代久远，包浆油润自然。纹饰刀法上采以斜刀阴刻，琢刻圆润，将漆器之经典造型表现淋漓精致，且毫不逊色，别有一番趣味。
