清代为如意发展的鼎盛时期，以灵芝、佛手、仙桃造型为主的如意被赋予了吉祥驱邪的涵义，成为承载祈福禳安等美好愿望的贵重之品。康熙年间，如意成为皇宫里皇上、后妃之玩物，宝座旁、寝殿中均摆有如意，以示吉祥、顺心。臣子们常进献如意祝贺皇室寿辰，皇族也拿如意赏赐王公大臣，如意即成上层人物权力和财富象征。因此清代宫廷如意成为一个特殊的门类，具有重要的鉴赏价值。
此件如意以紫檀为材雕就，通体满施如意云头纹，柄部略呈弓形，尾段略翘，造型舒缓优美。整器雕工娴熟老道，包浆滋润，设计巧妙，如意有万事如意之意，以灵芝云为主体纹饰，增添长寿祝愿。
