SHEPHERDESS WITH A DOG AS AN ALLEGORY OF SUMMERZurich, model after 1768.Mold 294. Addition to the Allegory of Summer from the series of the large figures depicting the Four Seasons. Underglaze blue mark Z and two dots. Incised mark K...5.H 19 cm.RestorationsComparative items: Swiss National Museum (S.Ducret, Züricher Porzellan, II, 1959, Ill. 82); Schwarzenbach Collection (Sotheby's Zurich, 7 Ma 1974, Lot No. 103); Dr. Kern Collection (KFS 122, 2009, p. 28, No. 17).The shepherdess on offer ist part of the series of large-scale figures depicting the Four Seasons, which Siegfried Ducret attributed to the figural work of Johannes Meyer. Neither the model of the shepherdess on offer, nor her counterpart of the Mover are mentioned in the inventory of 1768. Therefore, they are additions to the series of the Four Seasons created in 1768. The question of the attribution to a modeler was discussed by R. Schnyder in 2009 and he attributed them to a hitherto unknown model master from the circle of J. W. Spengler, who was at the beginning of his apprentice at the Manufactory in those years (KFS 122, p .20).---------------SCHÄFERIN MIT HUND ALS ALLEGORIE DES SOMMERSZürich, Modell nach 1768.Form 294.
