A separation wall of the right-hand lower row of drawers has a glued-on, handwritten note: ‘6 Meter weissen Futtersatin wie Probe. [followed by the name below] Fr. v. Drawers andpartments in part slightly jammed. The hinged lid is lined with gold-embossed leather on the inside and features three reserves. The two oval, colored engravings show portraits of William II Prince of Orange-Nassau (1626-1650) and his sister Albertine Agnes of Orange-Nassau (1634-1696), by Hugo Allard the Elder and after a painting by Gerrit van Honthorst, respectively, both from ca. 1650-80. In-between the two oval engravings, there is a portrait, presumably of Emperor Joseph II of Habsburg. Behind the inside cover is apartment, the back of which is covered with an engraving by Jeremiasz Falck (ca. 1610-1677), "Un Amour présente une branche de noyer à une femme assise" from 1663-1664. Furthermore, there are two equestrian engravings by Johann Jakob Schollenberg (1647-1699), one depicting Maximilian-Heinrich of Bavaria (1621-1688), Archbishop and Elector of Cologne, and the other depicting Elector Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria (1636-1679). Due to the persons depicted in the engravings, it is difficult to deduce a provenance. A connection to the House of Orange-Nassau is obvious. Unfortunately, the label on the box with the name "Freiherr von Tschirschky" raises more questions than it provides answers to.---------------BEDEUTENDE REISESCHATULLE MIT KOLORIERTEN PORTRAITS VON WILHELM II VON ORANIEN SOWIE DESSEN SCHWESTER ALBERTINE AGNESDeutschland, 17.
