此尊阿弥陀佛的肉髻低平，发髻正中为髻珠，面庞丰腴，双目垂俯，相容和熙。肩胸宽厚，体态饱满，身着法衣，内露裙角，衣纹的处理采用汉地写实手法，折迭曲覆，质感较强，双手于脐前结禅定印，结跏趺坐于莲花座上，台座莲瓣舒展饱满。制作工艺精美，形体饱满，衣折富有立体感，但造型端庄，体量高大，细部精美，不失为佛造像中的佳制，应为明朝内地风格造像。阿弥陀佛是梵文“阿弥陀婆佛陀”和“阿弥陀庚斯佛陀”的音译略称，意思是“无量寿”和“无量光”，是主持西方极乐世界的教主，形象为双手在跏趺坐的双膝上平行迭放，称为禅定印。阿弥陀佛受到欢迎，主要应归功于佛经中对西方凈土的渲染。
