玉料為地方青玉，局部受沁較重呈褐色。兩端各一獸首相對， 獸眼圓睜碩大，吻部凸起上刻有兩小鼻孔，造型古樸討喜。背面平滑，對鑽兩孔，孔口外大內小，可供系帶。類此古樸造型，在天津市文化局文物處藏有一《紅山文化玉獸形佩》其造型風格、圓形大眼及製作手法都與此件相似。另同在天津市文化局文物處藏的《紅山文化玉獸形玦》其玉質以及獸首刻畫簡練的樸拙風格亦與本件雷同。
