青玉玉料，然僅部分可見原生玉器色澤，其餘皆呈深褐色。鉤端為一獸首，雕有眼、鼻，獸嘴扁平微張頗具特色，頸部以細密斜線紋飾之，後則浮雕有一角。鉤身中部向上拱起，背面刻圓形鈕扣，為一仿戰國時期帶鉤造型。器身上以鳥紋裝飾，以陰刻雕琢交叉線紋、羽毛紋，運用短直的陰刻線作裝飾是唐代鳳鳥的特色之一。尾部琢一弧度，再以細線順著弧度雕作尾翎，自然流暢。 唐代鳳鳥紋多裝飾在玉佩、玉帶鉤、玉飾件上，本器鉤首設計獨特，鉤身琢刻細膩，整體造型古樸，相當別致。
