A group of bell-shaped standing terracotta stylised female fertility idol figures of varying sizes, comprising: one taller female with headdress, applied eyes, impressed circular design representing a pair of earrings and a single row of beads at the neck; one shorter female with hands close together and pressed against the chest, applied eyes and other facial features; one female with headdress, applied eyes and earrings and two rows of impressed decoration at the neck representing beads; one female with headdress (and square opening in the head), arms and hands cupped beneath both breasts, and applied eyes, ears and lips. 2.2 kg total, 13.5-22cm (5 1/4 - 8 3/4"). Property of a Middlesex collector; acquired on the London art market before 2000; formerly part of the 'Mahjarahu Collection' formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s. [4]
