Through the opened partly glazed wooden door of an interior room the view outside falls on a wooden balcony balustrade and a girl sitting on a chair in white blouse and blue skirt. She has her head slightly turned down and seems to be reading a letter in her hands. On the balustrade of this balcony there are three flower pots with bright flowers. Behind them, the view extends into a wide landscape of fresh bright green with mountain ranges in blue-grey colouring. Fine atmospheric, impressionistic paintings in fresh colours. The reader depicted in the painting, which was painted around 1902/05, could be the artist's daughter. Small retouching. (1221634) (18)
