OF A PEACH Oil on canvas.

At the right edge of the picture's margin drawing upwards a signature with the date "1886".
In heavy gilt frame.
The boy in the three-quarter portrait standing to the left, in front of a greenish iridescent background, in the open, slightly soiled shirt of an alleyboy, holding further bright fruit in his hat, obviously enjoying the peach fruit very attentively. The motif belongs to the popular genre depictions, as do his town scenes, portraits of young women or other motifs from southern folk life. His work often includes young Italian girls, beggar children or court scenes. In a way, Blaas has also set a monument to the poor but carefree life of Italy with this picture.
