Attached is a restoration report by Teresa Gonzáles Ortiz, January 2020, a

finely executed copy based on the original by Pieter Coecke van Aalst the Elder (1502/07-1550), which can be found under inventory number P002223 in the Prado Museum in Madrid. The three panels are made as a folding altar. The central picture shows Mary sitting to the left under an early Renaissance pillar, the child on her lap reaching for a gold gift offered by a kneeling king. In the background St. Joseph in a red cloak, further back a view through a round arch in a landscape with a castle and other staffage figures. The two wings at the side show the other two kings standing, each with their gifts. Here, too, the landscape background with ancient ruins, which are supposed to symbolize the fall of the Old World when Christianity appeared. Well preserved. (1220361) (11)
