Wolcott Oliver Declaration Signer Oliver Wolcott ADSA rare autograph legal document signed "Oliver Wolcott" while serving as Litchfield County Sheriff. Fine paper and exceptionally dark writing.Wolcott penned: "Have received this Second Day of October AD 1767 out of the Hands of my Deputy Mr Abraham Bradley an... which was Committed to him by Partridge Thatcher Esq and is in favour [sic] Samson Simson and Myer Myers of the City and Provence [sic] of New York against Abraham Brownson and Israel Brownson both of Woodbury Demanding the Sum of L360.9.7 New York Money and L3.12.3 lawfull [sic] money Costs of suit and 1/0 for Esq. Which Execution has by my sd. Deputy been Levied on the Body of the Said Abraham Brownson who has by my sd. Deputy been Committed to the Prison in Litchfield in Litchfield County according to the directions thereof... " According to "The Autograph Collector's Checklist", any Wolcott holograph is "rare".
