這方淌池硯做長方形，硯堂光潔開闊，前方自然下凹形成硯池，硯池內部以浮雕法雕刻出水波浩蕩的景象，上方以鏤雕法同樣刻出煙雲氣象與之呼應。硯背以淺浮雕法刻遠山數座，清遠典雅，簡約有韻，並有銘文：“磬石貴有聲，硯石貴無聲。無聲聲價重，有聲聲價輕。君子善守默，吾儒無近名。愙齋題。”愙齋即晚清收藏大家吳大澂之號。硯台配有原硯盒，硯盒正面木質有自然侵蝕痕跡，斑斑駁駁，自然古雅。作者在旁邊雕刻出流暢的水紋線條，與硯台本身相呼應，又與自然侵蝕紋理相合，可見巧思。 铭文：磐石贵有声，砚石贵无声。无声声价重，有声声价轻。君子善守默，吾儒无近名。愙齋題。 附：红木整挖砚盒 尺寸：1.7×7.3×11.2cm
