|黄玉为材，玉料珍罕，色泽醇厚，局部带有皮色，更添古韵。大羊体态丰腴，浑圆肥硕，呈蹲伏状，四蹄藏于腹下，短尾微翘。曲颈回首，姿态优美，双目平视前方，眼尾出梢，神态笃定，羊角卷曲后垂，双耳贴于脑后，温驯安详。作为与中华先民生产、生活息息相关的家畜，羊自古便被赋予了某种神秘的色彩。古人认为『美』与『善』皆与羊有关，《说文解字》中说：『羊，祥也。』，汉瓦当中亦有『大吉羊』之字样，以羊为形则寄托吉祥美好的愿望。整器工艺拙朴，却将动物形态把握得极好，为古代玉雕动物摆件中之佳品。
