全器四件一組，以青玉雕琢而成，均受黃土浸染覆有深褐色斑。依據裝飾用途與位置，由上而下分別為：劍首、劍琫、劍璏、劍珌，組件雖光素無紋，但切割工整，打磨細緻，足見斯時工藝水平以臻純熟。 玉器作為劍的裝飾物，最早源於西周時期，多見如匕首、短劍等物。到戰國晚期，四組件俱全的玉劍飾逐漸形成，單一組件者多稱為「玉劍飾」，而四件玉劍飾成套者並裝飾的長劍則稱為「玉具劍」，為西漢時期王公貴族佩劍上的重要裝飾品，亦是當時社會身份的表徵，成組劍飾於當代以為少見，而同工同料的劍飾則更是罕見。
