此具古雅别致的的书架以紫檀制成，在书桌上盛放书卷之用，用料上佳，选材粗浑，皮壳莹润，折叠式，造型简练大方。
以四根宽板立攒为框架，中安底板，两侧紧靠前方的内侧挖窠臼，容纳折叠构件，并靠后横装一枨子，用以承接支架。折叠构件以竖枨攒成框架，制作爽利精细，显示出高超的手艺。折叠构件后方，又自下方框架处设轴装支架，支架伸出部分略似“亚”字，支撑着折叠构件，不用时则先后叠合，纳于底面框架之内。本例紫檀书架造型可视作明清时硬木镜架之经典。
