此像以泥为材，写实之法塑造而成。弥勒身躯浑实，露胸坦腹，圆首大耳，慈眉善目，鼻头精巧，嘴角上扬，张口大笑，面容和悦，双耳垂肩，左手握珠，右手执布袋，呈半跌迦端坐状，衣纹塑造流畅，疏密有序，毫无滞感，织物堆叠刻画极为写实。底部平封，中开一透气孔，通体黄、褐色漆彩绘，衣物原有施金，因年代久远供奉使用，局部已有脱落，显斑驳之态，但更为其增添了古朴韵味。
整器衣纹流畅自然，工艺精美，包浆莹润，观之身心愉悦，诚如古人所言，“大肚能容，容天下难容之事；开怀一笑，笑世间可笑之人”。
