A fragment of a 15th century Nottingham alabaster relief of the Entombment Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. With minimal remains of former polychromy. The right half of a relief depicting the Entombment of Christ with the three women and Nicodemus at the grave remaining largely intact. The left edge irregular and with wear to the upper and lower edges. Abrasions, weather damage. Visibly darkened. A horizontal crack along the centre on the reverse. 31 x 17.5 x 4.5 cm. Geringfügige Reste einer ehemaligen farbigen Fassung. Rechte Hälfte eines Reliefs mit der Darstellung der Grablegung Christi, noch weitgehend erhalten die drei Frauen am Grabe und Nikodemus. Ungelmäßiger Abschluss auf der linken Seite, Bestoßungen auf Ober- und Unterseite. Bereibungen, Witterungsschäden, Oberfläche nachgedunkelt.
