A rare Überlingen silver gilt brandy bowl Scalloped oval dish with scroll handles, decorated in the centre with finely chased repoussé fruit and acanthus. L 15.1; W without handles 12.3 cm, weight 112 g. Marks of Johann Frantz Haitinger, circa 1680. This brandy bowl is the only known secular work produced by Haitinger. Two communion chalices by this maker are housed in the Munster of Überlingen. Literature For this maker cf. Fladt, Die Überlinger Goldschmiede, Kulturamt Überlingen, p. 3, no. 45. Seltene Überlinger Branntweinschale Silber; teilweise vergoldet. Passig ovale Schale mit gegenständigen Volutenhenkeln; der Spiegel mit qualitätvoll getriebenen und fein ziselierten Früchten und Akanthus. Marken: BZ Überlingen, MZ Johann Franz Haitinger (1650 - 1704, vgl. Rosenberg Nr. 4708 ff., 4725). L 15,1; B ohne Henkel 12,3 cm, Gewicht 112 g. Überlingen, Johann Frantz Haitinger, um 1680.
