拍品为清代御窑经典品类，见有内外满施红釉、内白外红两种形制，拍品即为前者。拍品造型规整，内外满施霁红釉，釉光饱满丰腴，釉色纯净雅致，宝光内蕴，乃雍正色釉佳器。红釉烧成难度较高，康熙朝景德镇御窑厂复烧此一品种，至雍正时期工艺成熟。《清宫造办处活计清档》记载，雍正七年（1729）八月十七日，“据圆明园来帖内称本月十四日郎中海望持出碎霁红磁盘边五块。奉旨：此釉水甚厚，新烧的甚薄，不知是何缘故，尔将此破瓷发给年希尧去，着伊照此破瓷釉水烧造，钦此。”可见雍正皇帝对此一品种的重视程度。
