A RUTH BADER GINSBURG ART PIECE FROM ZIMBABWE.Potato Prints from Zimbabwe, Africa. Kudhinda Fabrics, n.d. Stamped linen fabric, 410 x 310 mm, framed to 456 x 360 mm, with label on verso reading: " This picture has been hand printed with a potato. The potato is cut into little blocks and the pattern is then carved out with a knife. The artist creates the picture and usually works in a series of six pictures." This piece was likely acquired on one of Justice Ginsburg's visits to South Africa. She was present in Johannesburg for the opening of the Constitutional Court in 2004, and returned for speaking engagements in 2006. Zimbabweans are a diasporic people, migrating for the past many decades to locations including South Africa. This lovely cloth imprinted with warm tones hung in the Ginsburg's guest bedroom. None
