A MARTIN GINSBURG COCKTAIL TRAY.Silver plate and mahogany tray, 420 mm in diameter, with monogram of Cold Spring Country Club and engraved "Three Guys & Doll / Martin Ginsburg / 1959." Cold Spring Country Club in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, was founded in part by Marty's father on the estate of Otto Kahn, a wealthy developer who built a spectacular golf course on his property because Jews were not allowed into Protestant golf clubs. When Marty and Ruth moved to New York for Marty's job at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, the family joined Cold Spring Country Club alongside the elder Ginsburgs. This tray, which may celebrate Marty's passing of the New York Bar in 1959, may also be a partial gift from Ruth herself (the "doll" of the inscription). Martin and Ruth later resigned their member in Cold Spring Country Club in protest over the club's policy at the time of excluding women from full member. None
