白居易《太湖石记》言：“石有族聚，太湖为甲”，明代文震亨在《长物志》中也曾写道：“太湖石在水中者为贵，岁久被波涛冲击，皆成空石，面面玲珑。”，足见其在文人心中之重。此拍品造型逶迤婉转，浑穆古朴、凝重深沉，支点险劲。石性温润奇巧，底座古雅润泽，观之神思悠远。 王梦庚（1766-1843），字槐庭，号西躔，浙江金华人。嘉庆六年（1801）拔贡，历任合江、富顺、安岳、新津、犍为、灌县、华阳等县知县，太平、理番、城口、打箭炉、松潘等厅同知，官至重庆知府，道光二十三年（1843），病逝于重庆知府任上。
