|笔筒材质厚实，外壁浮雕青松苍梅，山间仙洞，洞中五老相聚，构图疏朗，雕刻精细，气韵流畅。所刻人物表情生动细腻，刻划传神，为清代竹雕笔筒之佳作。||五老，在中国美术史上，《睢阳五老图》作为北宋时代具代表性的肖像画名重一时，有多幅传本于世。明末张岱在其所著《夜航船》一书中，对此题材有所注解：“睢阳五老，宋冯平与杜衍、王焕章、毕世长、朱贯，咸以耆德挂冠，优游桑梓间。暇日宴集，……‘时人谓之睢阳五老。”由是可知，五老图应为明末清初之际的流行故事。
