此像尺寸精巧，但塑造的极为精细，尤为难得。表现的是释迦牟尼佛十大弟子之一的舍利弗尊者，大智大慧，被誉为“智慧第一”。
尊者呈现的是比丘形象和装束的特征，立姿，面目慈和，双耳颀长下垂，细眉弯如新月，鼻梁挺拔，双唇微启，虽然五官小巧，但刻画清晰明朗，俊朗清秀。
身躯笔直，上身披袒右肩袈裟，下身着僧裙，衣饰叠压自然，衣纹简洁明快，从袒露的右肩和贴身的服饰，足可看出其身躯的硬朗和肌肉的紧实。衣缘上满刻花纹，疏朗有致。右手置上，手持锡杖（锡杖已失），左手在下，托一钵盂，表现的正是释迦牟尼佛左胁侍弟子舍利弗的手势与持物特征。
