炉口圆正，口沿侈，束颈鼓腹，颈腹部对饰蚰龙耳，显灵巧之姿，与纤薄规整的胎体相映成趣，精气盎然，底承圈足外撇。通体包浆浑厚，色泽黄中泛青，是为原皮之色泽。底部开框铸刻“大明宣德年制”六字二行楷书款，规范工整、一气呵成。此炉书房清供，玩赏雅趣，尤以工精铜佳，造器只为悦己而不悦人，器型精巧，抚之把玩，爱不释手，婉转圆融，久观不厌，寓意绝佳。蚰耳炉为宣炉中最具代表性的款式，据记载，明宣宗爱之弥笃，置于书房为伴。
