Susette Inloes Schultz Keast (American, 1892–1932) The Lush Garden (with Sketch of Gloucester Fishermen Shacks verso) Illegibly signed 'Susette S. Keast' bottom left; also inscribed with name and address on (partly erased) label verso; also pencil signed 'S. Keast' bottom right verso, oil on board (double-sided) 11 x 15 in. (27.9 x 38.1cm) Unframed. Provenance Private Collection, Florida. Condition report: The unframed work in overall very good condition, with minor chips and abrasions along the outer edges of the work. Small paint loss in the upper right corner recto. With a thin diagonal hairline crack in the paint at bottom center, running for about 6 inches. The verso isa bit more beaten up, with overall less paint and impasto, especially in the river at center and bottom center. Thin layer of board missing at center left. Both sides are arguably a bit dirty, and would benefit from a light cleaning.
