本件拍品尺寸宽厚，铜制镂空鎏金，作工极为考究。正反两面镂雕有卷草龙纹，外沿辅助以滚珠纹饰，侧方两面均为如意纹，四面下部则均装饰有阴阳太极图案。与现藏于吉林省博物院仪刀和承德市博物馆仪刀之鞘尾形制完全一致，为清代皇帝卤簿仪仗所用。长5.8厘米。
根据记载，清朝皇帝卤簿仪仗定型于乾隆十三年。皇帝所乘金辇旁边有拂尘、金炉、香盒各两个。沐盆、唾盂、大小金瓶、金椅、金杌各一个。手执仪刀、弓失、豹尾枪各 30人。另有骑马卫士一千人。全部卤薄共需 1800 人。
根据现存馆藏仪刀实物可知，清代所制仪仗用刀。刀两边均有两道血槽，刀身近格处有描金缠枝花纹，柄茎缠绕绿线，柄首及柄茎底均为铜鎏金镂空云龙纹，鞘外蒙绿鲨鱼皮，鞘首至鞘尾共四道箍，均为铜鎏金镂空云龙纹。
