藏传佛教的重要法器之一，多为寺院大庙世代供奉之礼仪用。枪身为精钢所制，局部镂雕鋄金模仿火焰外焰，代表无穷尽的、不含仇恨的忿怒之能 , 亦即慈悲之能。其两侧饰有曲折飘逸之分枝，颇具艺术感。枪身通过铜鎏金尸陀林主骷髅吞口与枪库相连。枪库上阴刻有卷云纹饰并残留有鋄金痕迹，库尾有明显滚边。枪杆为原配，包浆浑厚粗壮。尾攥亦为铁质，姿态细长，装饰有鋄金卷草纹饰，颇为精致。全长 185 厘米。
尸陀林骷髅的意义是“无常”，藏传佛教认为诸法无常，世间无任何永恒之物，人亦有生老病死，然众生不明无常之理，妄生执着，最终招致轮回之苦。尸陀林以骷髅示人终究不过是一具白骨，用以启悟世人放弃对恒常的执着，以寻求解脱。此纹饰装饰于藏传法器，可见尸陀林对藏传佛教影响之深远。
