本尊造像之富丽精美，鎏金大威德金刚或称为怖畏金刚，是文殊菩萨的愤怒化身，为末法时期的护法神，立于铭刻有“大明永乐年施”款的双层莲座上，全身赤裸，怒目瞠视每个方位，正面主要的牛头，现狰狞恐怖相，怒发如火焰般冲天，牛头最上层为代表智慧的文殊菩萨，臂持着各式各样的降魔法器，主尊双肩和圆腹之间卷蛇缠绕，身披人头组成的璎珞，足踩踏死神阎魔以及排成四列造型殊异的鸟兽恶魔，以此威吓之势来摧毁对于死亡的恐惧以及充满无明的愚痴。大威德金刚铸造极为繁复精细，比例适切，空间安排完美。
