Comment: The reference 3800 was manufactured from 1981 to 2006 and offered an alternative to the larger Nautilus "Jumbo" watches. Considered a mid-size watch, the 3800 was manufactured in a wide range of styles using all four case metals as well as two-tone cases. This white gold version is certainly one of the rarest, as only a few examples have gone on sale in recent years. The reference 3800 is emblematic and its unisex size is appropriate for a male or female wrist.
The reference 3800/1 and the calibre 335 SC is illustrated in the M. Hubert & A. reference book. Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, pp. 232-233.
