|画箱以黄花梨木为材，呈规则长方形，四周铜包角。箱正面装饰有铜质方形面叶及拍子，可挂锁。两侧有铜质提手。箱口起两道宽阳线，起到加厚和装饰作用，正由于此，箱口起线成为此类画箱的常见做法。通体光素，毫无装饰花纹，尽显黄花梨木自身独特纹理，纹路清晰，深浅不一，打磨精致，纯净自然，线条流畅优美。整器造型规整，包光莹润，纹理美观，颇为古雅。此类箱实用功能十分广泛，适于随身携带，亦可置书房案头。
