In the Style of Zhu Shaozong (active 11th/12th century), Bamboo, Camellia and Birds, China, Qing dynasty, handscroll, 45 x 434 cm, ink and colors on silk. Signature at the end of the scroll: "Painted by Zhu Shaozong". Three collector's seals: "Huaji", "Shiqu baoji" (seal of the collection of the Qianlong Emperor, 1736-1795), etc. One collector's seal at the beginning of the scroll. Zhu Shaozong was a member of the Painting Academy of the Song dynasty (960-1279). Besides painting figures and animals like cats he specialized in painting flowers and birds. There is one fan painting by him in the Palace Museum in Peking depicting butterflies and chrysanthemums.
