謝明錩1955年生於台北，台灣著名水彩畫家，曾任台灣藝術大學美術系副教授，現任玄奘大學藝術與創作設計系客座教授。謝明錩老師的繪畫如同每天的日記，是感觸的抒發，亦是生命的領悟。除了畫外之意與弦外之音，也使繪畫與文學牽上線，謝明錩老師的作品無論是視覺上的當代性、獨特的技巧與創意思考同時兼具。老師也認為藝術的最高境界是「遊戲」，這遊戲應該不僅僅是技巧遊戲，更應該是「意念遊戲」。而意念就是主題、色彩、形式與技巧的全新創造，意蘊與意念即是謝明錩老師目前創作的唯一追求。
